Google Speaks Book Review
I’ve just finished reading the book, Google Speaks. I must say, I was a bit disappointed in the book. Maybe it is because I’ve previously read 4 other Google books, but I was expecting a bit more. I was hoping that the book would be based on interviews with Google’s 2 founder Sergey Brin and Larry Page, but it wasn’t. Just the usual public domain information. It seems that everyone wanting to make a buck these days could just simply go and copy what someone else has already written. This is something that I find a lot. Special in technology books, you often get that writers will take parts of existing book, and quote them, to the extent that 50% of the book is quotes. It suck when you have read the book that the author is quoting from though. Just paid R150 for nothing.
So no, I will not recommend Google Speaks. There was only I thought provoking idea in the whole book for me, but I will leave that for another post.
